“Because every dog deserves their fairy ‘tail’ ending.”

Fairy Dogmothers Rescue is a foster-based nonprofit in Oklahoma dedicated to providing safe, loving homes for homeless dogs until they find their forever families. We rescue dogs from municipal shelters across the state, partner with other rescues, and accept owner surrenders in need. Through our network of compassionate foster families, we ensure that every dog receives individualized care, medical attention, and the opportunity to thrive in a home environment. Our mission is to give each dog a second chance at life, while promoting responsible pet ownership, spaying and neutering, and community education to reduce pet homelessness.

Core Values

  • Compassion: Every dog deserves safety, love, and dignity.

  • Community: Rescue is a shared effort—working together with fosters, shelters, and partners makes success possible.

  • Commitment: We are dedicated to finding forever homes for every dog entrusted to our care.

  • Advocacy: We educate and empower the community to prevent neglect, abandonment, and overpopulation.

Rescue. Foster. Love. Adopt. Repeat

Fostering is the heart of Fairy Dogmother Rescue—it gives dogs a safe, loving place to heal and prepare for adoption. Every foster home opens the door for us to save another life, making you a vital part of our mission.

Responsibilities of Foster Homes

Veterinary Care

  • Fosters are responsible for transporting dogs to vet appointments. Transportation help may be arranged if needed.

  • Surgeries require dogs to fast after midnight the night before.

  • All appointments must be approved by Cindy Kienlen.

  • Unauthorized visits may not be reimbursed.

Animal Care & Safety

  • Foster dogs must:

    • Be kept indoors as family pets.

    • Have supervised outdoor access with secure fencing or leashes.

    • Always wear a collar with ID tag.

  • Fosters must provide daily food, clean water, shelter, exercise, and enrichment.

Adoption Preparation

  • Dogs are made available for adoption only after vetting is complete.

  • Fosters must provide:

    • Clear, high-quality photos.

    • A written biography describing the dog’s personality, habits, and needs.

  • Adoption applications are reviewed by the Adoptions Coordinator and Board before approval.

Health Concerns

  • Any illness, injury, or unusual behavior must be reported immediately.

  • Dogs with contagious illness must be quarantined.

Support for Fosters

  • The Rescue supplies food, crates, toys, and flea/tick prevention as donations allow.

  • Fosters always have first right of adoption if declared before another adoption is finalized.

🐾 Why Fostering Matters

Fostering dogs saves lives. By opening your home to a dog in need, you provide a safe, loving space that helps them heal, grow, and get ready for adoption. Fostering not only frees up shelter space for other animals but also helps dogs decompress, learn essential skills, and show their true personalities. It’s a rewarding experience for caregivers while giving shelters valuable insights to make the best adoption matches.

🐶 Benefits for the Dog

  • Life-Saving Care: Foster homes provide comfort and healing for dogs who may be sick, injured, recovering from surgery, or stressed in a shelter.

  • Reduced Stress: A calm, home environment helps dogs relax and show their happier, authentic selves.

  • Improved Health: Dogs in foster homes tend to be healthier—both physically and emotionally—than those left in crowded shelter conditions.

  • Manners & Socialization: Living in a foster home teaches dogs house manners, routines, and how to interact with people and other pets.

💕 Benefits for the Foster

  • Emotional Fulfillment: There’s nothing more rewarding than helping a dog in need on their journey to a forever home.

  • Companionship: Foster dogs bring joy and comfort, especially for those living alone.

  • Learning Experience: Fostering allows you to discover different breeds, personalities, and behaviors up close.

  • Temporary Commitment: It’s a way to make a lasting difference without a lifelong responsibility.

🌍 Benefits for the Community

  • Frees Up Space: Every foster home opens a spot in the shelter for another dog in need.

  • Helps At-Risk Dogs: Fostering directly saves lives by preventing overcrowding and reducing the risk of euthanasia.

  • Better Adoption Matches: Foster parents share valuable insights about each dog’s behavior in a home setting, ensuring the best possible forever placement.

Adoption Terms & Conditions

With Fairy Dogmothers Rescue, every adoption represents a fresh start for a deserving dog and a meaningful bond for their new family. To ensure the best possible match and lifelong care, we ask all adopters to agree to the following terms.

💲 Adoption Fee

Our adoption fee is $235 (non-refundable). This fee helps cover veterinary care, food, transport costs, and the ongoing rescue work that makes adoptions possible. The cost of vetting for each dog, without any additional procedures, such as a dental cleaning for senior dogs, is $210.  This amount includes a "rescue fee reduction" from the vet that we use.  We hope our interested adopters understand that our organization does not make any profit from the adoption fee.

🐾 Care & Responsibility

Adopted dogs are family. We ask that adopters:

  • Provide proper food, water, shelter, exercise, and companionship.

  • Keep their dog as an indoor pet and loved family member.

🩺 Veterinary Care

Your dog’s health is our priority. Adopters agree to:

  • Provide routine and emergency veterinary care, including vaccinations, parasite prevention, and annual checkups.

🔄 Return Policy

If life circumstances change and you can no longer care for your dog, you must return them to The Fairy Dogmothers Rescue. Dogs may not be sold, given away, abandoned, or transferred to another shelter or rescue.

🕵️ Lost or Stolen Pets

If your adopted dog becomes lost or stolen, notify us immediately and take every reasonable step to recover them.

⚖️ Liability

From the day of adoption, all responsibility for the dog’s behavior rests with the adopter. The Fairy Dogmothers Rescue is not liable for damages, injuries, or expenses caused after adoption.

✅ Follow-Up Care

To ensure the well-being of our dogs, we may check in after adoption through home visits, phone calls, or vet record requests. If conditions are found to be unsafe, the rescue reserves the right to reclaim the dog.
